PETNET has changed
Since 1994, PetNet has promoted socially responsible pet ownership by providing education, information and research to governments, journalists, veterinarians, welfare groups, schools and pet owners.
PetNet is the website for the Petcare Information and Advisory Service (PIAS), an autonomous organisation generously sponsored by Mars Petcare. For more information, please read About Us.
PIAS is now in its fifth decade of operation, and over many years we have made available a large body of information to help Australians to get more out of socially responsible pet ownership. PIAS research, education and information materials are now easier to find through the new PetNet site.
In addition, we continue our popular Selectapet service, which helps you decide which breed of dog or cat is suited to your lifestyle. A new feature of Selectapet will connect you with relevant breed clubs (where available) so that you might learn more about dog and cat breeds. Please read our Terms & Conditions before leaving the PetNet site.
PetNet now brings you pet related news, views and events, provided by the PIAS team together with experts in animal care. You will find new and interesting articles linked on the left of the page – all sourced from our dedicated blog, i-pet.
And you can find links to other sites that help you get more out of socially responsible pet ownership, including holidays with pets, how to find a pet friendly rental, dog friends, and good parks and beaches for exercising your dog - to name just a few.
We hope you continue to find PetNet a useful source of information on pet ownership in Australia. Please Contact Us if you have any feedback or questions.
